Downend is a popular family area north east of the city. If you take the M32, it’s just off the ring road (A4174). The area has lots of green spaces and parks, which are well used by the local community.
The local high street, Badminton Road and the surrounding area, has lots of independent shops, national supermarkets and banks. There’s an excellent choice of cafes, restaurants and pubs, as well. It also functions as the local hub to adjoining suburbs – see Frenchay, Staple Hill, Mangotsfield, Cleeve Wood, Bromley Heath.
There’s a wide variety of property, including fine Victorian terraces in the central area, along with 1930s semis. If you venture a little further out, you’ll also find modern houses and purpose-built flats. There's something for families of all sizes.
It's easily accessible by car and close to motorway links. There are good public transport connections to the city centre and Cribbs Causway. You can join the Bristol to Bath cycle path at nearby Staple Hill.
