Southmead is a suburb in the north of Bristol, neighbouring Filton, Westbury-on-Trym, and Horfield to the south. Developed in the 1930s, most properties date from this time. Major employment hubs at Filton and Southmead Hospital have brought increased affluence to the area, with a greater selection of shops and facilities.

There's easy access to the city centre four miles south. The M4/M5 interchange at Almondsbury is two miles north, passing Cribbs Causeway. The nearest train station is Filton Abbey Wood, roughly two miles away.
