321 Wells Road Bristol BS4 2QB
Stockwood is an outermost residential area in south Bristol. It's semi-rural, with the upper part set on a plateau surrounded by fields and the lower part a wooded valley. It's bordered to the west by the old Bristol to Radstock railway line, which is now a cycleway between Whitchurch and Brislington. Stockwood is just north of the Somerset town of Keynsham.
The upper estate was built in the 1960s. There's been steady growth over the years and there's now a selection of modern build houses and apartments of all shapes and sizes.
There's an excellent view of the city from the green space in front of the shopping precinct.
There are local convenience shops, with further choice available at Knowle. Hengrove Park Leisure Centre has an Olympic-size swimming pool, as well as a multi-screen cinema, shops and restaurants.
It’s a little over five miles from the city centre via the Wells Road (A37 and A4044). There’s regular public transport.
