Stockwood

Stockwood is an outermost area of south Bristol. It's semi-rural, the upper part is set on a plateau surrounded by fields, the lower part a wooded valley. It's bordered by the old Bristol to Radstock railway line, now a cycle-way between Whitchurch and Brislington.

It’s a little over five miles from the city centre via the Wells Road. There’s regular public transport.

The upper estate was built in the 1960s. There's been steady growth over the years and there's now a selection of modern build houses and apartments of all shapes and sizes.

There's an excellent view of the city from the green space in front of the shopping precinct.

There are local convenience shops, with further choice available at Knowle. Hengrove Park Leisure Centre has an Olympic-size swimming pool, as well as a multi-screen cinema, shops and restaurants.
