Buying a home is probably the biggest investment you'll ever make. So it's only common sense to check it out properly before you commit yourself to buying it. But what kind of survey do you need?
There are three main kinds, which we describe very briefly here (you can click each one for more details):
- Valuation report: a brief report intended primarily to help your mortgage lender assess whether a property is worth the price being paid for it.
- Home-buyer’s survey: a more thorough survey, designed to provide home-buyers with fairly detailed information on their new property, at an affordable price.
- Full building survey: a really comprehensive report, covering virtually every aspect of your new home’s condition in considerable detail. Suited to all property types - but especially larger and older houses.
And, of course, we'd be happy to have a chat about which is right for you.
